Hi Ann. You can find it online here using the access password provided in the October 2023 newsletter: https://wadecourtresidents.co.uk/restricted-access/wcra-agm-minutes/. I can ask your road rep to provide if you cannot access that page. Joe

Wade Court Carols – Wednesday 20th December at 18:00

Come and join us at the little roundabout at the end of North Close for a traditional Christmas carol sing song!

We are aiming to provide mulled wine and some festive nibbles supported by a kind donation from WCRA.

It is recommended to bring a torch, a chair if you don’t wish to stand for an hour and a mug for mulled wine.

Decision on weather will be made at 16:30 and communicated via the WhatsApp group.

WCRA WhatsApp GROUP – WHAT’S IT FOR AND HOW TO USE IT

We have started a residents’ WhatsApp group to enable the exchange of information that may be too informal or ephemeral for the website. Here are some guidelines that we hope will ensure the group is useful rather than an irritating nuisance.
    • The group provides a means of instant communication between residents in case of an emergency – a crime in progress or to seek immediate help – or matters of immediate interest, for example, cold callers in the road.
    • It can also be used for requests for help or support, say, “I’ve twisted my ankle, can someone please walk the dog?” or “The grandchildren are visiting, can anyone loan me a highchair?”.
    • Please think carefully before forwarding any messages that have originated from outside the group. Forwarded messages may contain viruses or dangerous links.
    • No commercial postings please.
    • The Committee will use the group to flag up new content on the website.
    • Residents can also use the group to contact Committee members, especially for matters of interest to your neighbours as well as yourself. Your Road Rep would normally be your first port of call: use the @ symbol at the start of your message to select the relevant Road Rep.
    • There are over 70 households in our membership: please only post messages that are likely to be relevant to a significant proportion of the membership in general rather than to a select few.
    • If you find your phone is “pinging” with annoying regularity, you can turn off notifications. In the WhatsApp app, go to: Settings – Notifications – and turn off Conversation Tones.

We hope residents will find this group of value and look forward to receiving your feedback on how its usage should evolve.

    ULTRAFAST BROADBAND IN OUR ROADS
You will have noticed intermittent signs of activity in our roads by contractors working for CityFibre, who are installing fibre optic cables for Ultrafast Broadband (also known as Fibre To The Premises (FTTP)) across Havant and Emsworth. To date, cables have been laid through the BT Openreach conduits along Wade Court Road and at least one telegraph pole, in Willow Close, has been equipped with a new junction box.
You will probably be wondering when this new facility will be available to residents. This is difficult to be precise about. The CityFibre website is of little help and most Internet Service Providers (ISPs) are vague. The ISP toob’s website indicates it expects to start accepting pre-orders next January. Giganet’s website suggests the service will be available in March 2024.
In short, it’s coming but in its own time!

The AGM and BBQ raised a total of £228, which has been donated to the Community First Responders charity. The following message has been received:
“To all at The Wade Court Residents Association,
    Thank You
I am writing to thank you and confirm safe receipt of £228.65 awarded to South Central Ambulance Charity.
Sending a special thanks to all who helped and supported at your event.
We are a small charity who support our NHS organisation by providing funding for services that are over and above what the NHS can fund. Without donations like yours we would not have a Community First Responder (CFR) programme & Patient transport service to name but a few. South Central Ambulance staff would not be able to benefit from some of the enhancements to their working conditions that the Charity are able to provide.
The Charity supports staff and volunteers across the four counties (Hants, Berks, Bucks, Oxon), working alongside SCAS operational colleagues to ensure the Charity can add value where required. Each year the Charity needs to raise approximately £300,000 to support CFR activity. Our CFR volunteers support
frontline crews/patients in their community. They are highly trained individuals who receive no statutory funding. We currently have around 1000 active CFR volunteers.
I hope that the above provides a brief insight into what this donation will go towards.
I would like to thank you again for thinking of the Charity,
    Yours Sincerely

    Kirstie Angell
    South Central Ambulance Charity”
